5th Question:
Where do thoughts come from? Brava Magazine states, “certain thoughts are passed through generations and driven by our culture.”
For instance, a dictionary consists of words and definitions. Those words and definitions were in someone’s mind. Those words and definitions were passed between people. However, how someone chooses to view a word or definition or how someone understands the word or sentence depends on the individual. As a result, a word or sentence might cause hurt to one person, but not hurt another person.
For example, Merriam-Webster defines ugly as “offensive to the sight.” However, someone might say the name of someone when they are asked to define the word ugly. Someone might themselves when asked to define ugly. However, the dictionary doesn’t say those names are the definition of ugly. That is someone else’s definition of ugly, but not accepted in the dictionary world. Therefore, it can be helpful for some people to ask themselves, “Why should you accept a definition that isn’t part of the dictionary?”
